Palm Beach International Airport (PBI)

Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) serves West Palm Beach and the surrounding areas of Palm Beach County, Florida. Located about three miles west of downtown West Palm Beach, it offers easy access to South Florida's beaches, resorts, commercial areas, and well-known attractions. The airport connects the area with locations throughout the US, Canada, and the Bahamas by managing domestic flights as well as a few international services.

In fiscal year 2025, PBI Airport registered a record 8.6 million passengers, indicating the region's increasing demand for air travel. American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue Airways, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, Frontier Airlines, and Air Canada are among the airlines that service the airport.

Scheduled services are also offered by other airlines, such as Allegiant Air, Avelo Airlines, Breeze Airways, and Bahamasair. In order to meet passenger demand and improve links to both domestic and foreign destinations, the airport keeps growing its air service network.

Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) has three concourses (A, B, and C) in its single terminal. Airport check-in, security checks, arrivals, and departures are all handled by the terminal. The airport has amenities for both arriving and outgoing passengers, including restaurants, stores, and other necessary services.

To meet various travel needs, Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) provides a variety of parking alternatives, such as economy, long-term, and short-term parking. Passengers can travel between the airport, West Palm Beach's downtown, neighboring hotels, and other locations in Palm Beach County with these services.

On December 19, 1936, Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) opened as Morrison Field, named for aviation pioneer Grace K. Morrison. That year, the airport saw its first commercial flight run by Eastern Air Lines. The airfield was used as a military transit base during World War II to support soldiers and aircraft going abroad.

Following the conclusion of military activities in 1947, Palm Beach County started to reinstate civilian services. Palm Beach International Airport was given its name in 1948. In order to meet the growing demand for passengers, significant improvement initiatives were undertaken once county ownership was created in 1960.
